Newark Quakers are organising a Silent Vigil for Peace to take place on Friday 6 March 2026 at 12.00 Noon.
We will be gathering at the edge of the Market Place, near the junction with Stodman Street.
The vigil is intended to draw attention to the need for peace – in our hearts, in our communities, and in the world. We want, positively, to stand in solidarity with those impacted by violence and conflict. Also providing an opportunity for silent reflection and prayer for peace.
We will welcome anyone who wishes to stand with us, quietly, for a few minutes or as long as they are able. The whole event will last no more than 45 minutes.
Would you be willing to publicise the vigil within your church community?
If you can’t be present, will you please pray for us on Friday 6 March at Noon?
Assuming the event is successful, we plan to make the vigil a regular monthly event.
The vigil is being coordinated by Andrew West from Newark Quakers - Email: andrewwest@gmx.co.uk. Telephone 07789 925 844.
